Data Conversion

When you are converting from one system to another, we can help with the data conversion, or we can also check the data conversion that someone else performs to ensure that nothing is missed or converted improperly.

Our tools allow us to control every character in an export file. We can also write API conversion programs to read directly from one system and put it into another. Our methodology of data conversion is to write software to convert the data so it can be run again and again. For example, if you are converting from one payroll system to another, you may want an initial data conversion to test the calculation formulas as you develop them. Then, a few weeks later, you may want to do another conversion to test a parallel run.

As we convert the data, we can also sanitize the data, for example if you have names that are inconsistent like, "JOHN DOE", "fred smith" and "Leon McMaster", we can convert the data consistently to be "John Doe", "Fred Smith", and "Leon McMaster".

If APIs are available for both systems, we can also write a program to compare the final data loaded into the destination system with the current data in the previous system. This ensures end-to-end conversion accuracy.
